Come and experience the Tarbenera tradition

  1. Fiestas in honour of Santa Bárbara: from 4 to 13 August, in honour of the town’s patron saint, Santa Bárbara. Numerous events take place, such as processions, live music, sports competitions, fireworks and religious events.
  2. Fiestas Patronales in honour of San Miguel: from 29 September to 2 October, in honour of the town’s patron saint, San Miguel Arcángel. Numerous events take place, such as processions, live music, sports competitions, fireworks and religious events.
  3. Fiestas de la Purísima Concepción: from 6 to 9 December in honour of the Immaculate Conception. There are processions, cultural activities, musical performances and traditional dances.
  4. Fiesta de la Santa Cruz: on the 3rd of May, crosses are decorated with flowers and a procession takes place to the Hermitage of Santa Cruz, where a mass is held and traditional music and dances are performed.
  5. Pilgrimage to the Font de Partagat: Held on the last Sunday in April, the residents of Tàrbena go in procession to the Font de Partagat, a natural spring located in an enchanting natural setting.
  6. Nit de l’Albà: This festivity is held on the night of 14th to 15th August in honour of the Virgin of the Assumption. During the night, bonfires are lit and fireworks are launched to light up the sky.
  7. Cultural Week: During one week in July, a Cultural Week is organised which includes activities such as concerts, art exhibitions, theatre, conferences and workshops.
  8. Day of the Valencian Community: On 9 October, the Day of the Valencian Community is celebrated, the date on which the entry of Jaume I into Valencia is commemorated. In Tàrbena, cultural events and activities are held to celebrate Valencian identity.
  9. Crafts and Gastronomy Fair: On special occasions, such as Christmas or during tourist events, a fair is organised where local artisans exhibit and sell their products, and visitors can enjoy the local gastronomy.
  10. San Antonio Abad Day: It is celebrated on January 17th in honour of San Antonio Abad, patron saint of animals. There are pet blessings and activities related to the tradition and devotion to San Antonio Abad.
  11. Summer Festival: During the summer months, open-air cultural and musical events are held, such as concerts, plays and film screenings, which form part of the Tàrbena Summer Festival.
  12. Santísimo Cristo de la Salud Festival: This is held on 14th September in honour of the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud. Religious acts, processions and festive activities are held to commemorate the patron saint of the municipality.
  13. Festival of San Vicente Ferrer: Held on the last weekend of April in honour of San Vicente Ferrer, patron saint of Tàrbena. There are religious acts, processions and festive activities such as live music, competitions and attractions for children.
  14. Festivity of San Roque: It is celebrated on 16th August in honour of San Roque, patron saint of Tàrbena. During this festival, there are religious activities, processions, popular festivals and fireworks.
  15. Festival of the Virgin of the Assumption: This is held on 15 August in honour of the Virgin of the Assumption. During this festivity, religious acts, processions and cultural and recreational activities take place.
  16. Gastronomic days: At different times of the year, Tàrbena organises gastronomic days to promote the region’s typical products and dishes. These days usually include tastings, cooking competitions and events related to local gastronomy.
  17. Fiesta de San Juan: On 24 June the Fiesta de San Juan is celebrated, a festival in which bonfires are built, bonfires are jumped over and fireworks are set off to welcome the summer solstice.
  18. Fiesta de la Virgen del Rosario: The first Sunday in October is the Fiesta de la Virgen del Rosario, in honour of the Virgin Mary. Processions and religious acts take place, as well as cultural and recreational activities.
  19. Music and Dance Festival: In some years, Tàrbena has organised a music and dance festival featuring performances by local artists and artists from other parts of Spain. This festival offers a variety of musical styles and traditional dances.
  20. Christmas Fair: During the Christmas season, Tàrbena usually organises a fair that includes craft stalls, local products, children’s activities, live music and festive decorations.
